THEATRE COMPANY

LAZARUS

Welcome to the home of Lazarus Theatre Company, a company truly committed to producing the best in London Fringe Theatre.

Inspired by a broad and diverse range of material we hope that our work informs, inspires and provokes our audiences, offering a fresh and bold re-imagination of some of the greatest works ever written. Through the use of text, song, music and movement we hope to offer an exciting theatrical experience; our work involves ensemble storytelling with intimacy and detail at its heart.

Season 2009 has been an incredible collection of work; our productions of Webster’s “The Duchess of Malfi”, Wilde’s “Salomé” and Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” have all received glowing reviews and in turn played sell out seasons. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in making this season Lazarus’ most successful one yet.

In this our third year we have been building strong links with theatres, practitioners and artists as well as the most important aspect of our work, our audience.

We are currently programming Lazarus season 2010, more details will be announced in the new year.

“Stylized movement (the ensemble hold tableaus which look like a slice of an Ancient Tapestry) meets contemporary musical, and the modern and the ancient are layered on top of one another like a palimpsest.”
