14th, 15th and 16th August 2009, The Roundhouse Studio Theatre.
Originally performed in France due to the censorship on the British stage Wilde’s Salomé, a radical retelling of the famous temptress and her dance of the seven veils inspires this, the next in the Lazarus Cannon.
Herod, King of Judaea, obsessed by his step daughter, begs her to dance for him, her seductive, sensual and hypnotic cascade of the veils leads to horrific destruction.
Through the use of movement, text and an original score we present this the most seductive and sensual of Wilde’s plays. The large ensemble of twenty actors presents one of our most sexually charged and provocative pieces of theatre in one of the most exciting performance venues in London, The Roundhouse.
Salomé is performed as part of The Camden Fringe 2009
